Satus Dignus CRI was created in January 2017 to rescue children from the streets in Nigeria. Our non-profit organisation is committed to giving each child a chance to enjoy their early years, get a proper education and benefit from life changing opportunities.
As an NGO in Nigeria, Satus Dignus CRI pursues four goals:
Our principles
Based in Ibadan, our charity was born on the fifth of January 2017 with a Facebook post describing the proposed project. A messenger group was created shortly after with the following people to start working on the actualisation. They will always be a part of our success story.
Our team directly engages with children living in public spaces such as markets, garages, and stations. We conduct weekly on-the-street interactive sessions called IBERE-OTUN, which include games, lessons, and meals, allowing us to build trust and provide immediate counseling before transitioning children into our residential programs.
Yes. Satus Dignus CRI is a private charity registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria and the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion. We are also active members of the Association for OVC NGOs in Nigeria (AONN) and the Association of Orphanages and Homes Operators in Nigeria (ASOHON).
Absolutely. We recognize the family as the bedrock of society. Through our Family Program, we work to locate a child’s relatives and facilitate psychological healing for both parties. While we provide legal guardianship and residential care, our ultimate goal is a safe and healthy reunification whenever possible.
We are exclusively funded by private donations from individuals, friends, and well-wishers. Your contributions directly fund our "SAFETI" focus: Shelter & Healthcare: Maintaining separate homes for boys and girls, including medical screening for HIV, Typhoid, and Hepatitis B.
Education: Providing basic literacy, numeracy, and vocational skills through state-recognized training institutes. Nutrition: Ensuring every child is adequately fed.
