Do you have questions?

We answer to all your daily
questions about Satus Dignus CRI

What does "Satus Dignus" mean and what is your mission?

"Satus Dignus" translates to "Worthy Beginning." Our mission is to recreate worthy and beautiful beginnings by providing a safe and conducive environment for the mental, physical, and emotional development of children rescued from the streets of Ibadan.

How long has Satus Dignus CRI been operating?

The initiative was born on January 5, 2017, starting as a community-driven project on Facebook. We welcomed our first seven boys on March 7, 2017, and have been operating continuously ever since, expanding our reach and facilities.

What is the "SAFETI" model mentioned in your programs?

We operate through five core pillars to ensure holistic development: Shelter: Providing safe accommodation and healthcare. Advocacy: Influencing government policies on child rights. Family: Facilitating psychological healing and reunification with relatives. Education & Training: Offering literacy, numeracy, and vocational skills. Integration: Helping children become productive, respected members of Nigerian society.

What is the "IBERE-OTUN" program?

IBERE-OTUN is our weekly on-the-street outreach. We meet children where they are—in markets, garages, and stations—to provide interactive games, lessons, counseling, and a hot meal. It serves as the primary way we build trust with street-connected children before they transition into our residential care.

How is the NGO funded?

Satus Dignus CRI is unique in that it is funded exclusively by private individuals, friends, and well-wishers. We do not currently rely on large corporate grants or government funding, which makes the consistent support of our "Facebook community" and private donors vital to our survival.

Is Satus Dignus CRI a registered organization?

Yes. We are a private charity registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria and the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion. We also maintain a presence in Belgium to help coordinate international support.

How can I donate to support the children?

You can support us via bank transfer to our Zenith Bank account (1014993887) under the name Satus Dignus Child Rescue Initiative. We also accept donations via PayPal for international supporters. Every donation goes directly toward the nutrition, medical care, and education of the children in our homes.

Can I volunteer or visit the center?

We welcome volunteers who can contribute skills in teaching, counseling, medical care, or vocational training. Because we prioritize the safety and privacy of our children, all visits and volunteer roles must be scheduled and vetted in accordance with our child protection policies.
